FAQS

SOLO Answers Fan Questions!

DOES SOLO STILL RECORD MUSIC?

Yes, SOLO is still recording currently independently.

In 1998, the group's sophomore follow-up "4 Bruthas and a Bass" was released on A&M Records. On it, SOLO collaborated with the late great Gerald Levert, wrote and co-produced with Angie Stone, recorded with the talented female group Brownstone, and released another hit single the sexy "Touch Me" (#23 Billboard R&B) co-produced and co-written with Raphael Saadiq.

In 2015 the group independently released "3.0 Rebooted". A collection of sexy feelgood gems "Gone" and the good man's anthem "MF Keeper." In 2016 the group was honored with The Northern Classic R&B Weekend 2016 Lifetime Achievement Award.

WHY DID SOLO TAKE SO LONG TO START MAKING MUSIC AGAIN?

Without a foundation, a house is too week to survive a storm. Losing the foundation of Jam & Lewis and The Perspective Music family was a big blow to the group. Music was changing, and the group was often told there was no place for them in the market anymore. It was not until SOLO started hearing from fans wanting more. Out of respect to fans and to honor their God-given talents, the group jumped back into the business of music. Solo loves to perform for people who want to listen, and it doesn't matter if 20 people are listening on a subway platform in NYC or 2,000 people in a seated theater.

WOULD SOLO EVER WORK WITH JAM & LEWIS AGAIN?

Umm, Absolutely! The group never wanted to stop working with them. Forever grateful to these two guys fo their guidance and love of music.
